2010 South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo

Announcing Safe Air Systems, Inc., will be attending the South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo at the Raleigh Convention Center, August 11 – 14, 2010.  The NCSFA – South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, NC.  Safe Air Systems, Inc., will be showing at the NCSFA – South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo. So come see us at Booth Spaces 932 and 934 the South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo and please stop by our Booth Space 932 and 934 to say hello.


The South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo is the new name for the statewide firefighter’s exposition held in conjunction with the North Carolina State Firemen’s Association and the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs Annual Conference that can trace its beginnings back to the late 1800’s.


Through the leadership and vision of the NCSFA, the Annual Conference has been expanded to include the South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo, which will draw firefighters, EMS/rescue personnel and emergency management agencies from throughout the South Atlantic region.


Expo attendees will have access to numerous regional fire-rescue vendors in the 150,000 square foot Exhibition Hall of the recently completed Raleigh Convention Center.


2010 VSFA Annual Conference/Expo

Announcing Safe Air Systems, Inc., will be attending the VSFA Conference at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, August 11 – 14, 2010.  The Virginia State Firefighter’s Association – Annual Conference/Expo will be held at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, Virginia.  Safe Air Systems, Inc., will be showing at the VSFA Annual Conference/Expo. So come see us at the VSFA Annual Conference/Expo and please stop by our Booth to say hello.

Dean VanNest SCBA Rupture

On Sunday May 2, 1999, Firefighter Dean VanNest at Summerfield Fire Department (Summerfield, NC) experienced something that few firefighters will ever experience. While performing his normal duties he was recharging a 2216 SCBA bottle. As the bottle reached the 1000 to 1500 psi range, Dean heard a noise

similar to a bleed valve leaking. As he reached for the fill knob, to stop the filling procedure and attend to the apparent problem, the SCBA bottle ruptured. read more…

The failed cylinder caused significant damage to the engine on which it was stored and minor damage to the adjacent engine. The damage caused by the failed cylinder including blowing off the door of the compartment in which the cylinder was stored.
